Our Story

“Our names are Aimée & Dan and we are the owners of a small homestead that is working to make a big difference in the world. Inspired by our love for nature & our ancestors to live a more sustainable lifestyle we work consciously with nature in a reciprocal relationship with the earth to bring forth offerings, experiences and knowledge to share with others.”

Both Aimée and Dan grew up fuelled with a love for art & nature. Dan spent much time in the past working on farms, being an avid outdoorsman and living in the mountains while working with world renowned artists in the tattoo industry. Aimée grew up farming and carrying on family homesteading traditions. After recovering from a near death experience in 2012 Aimée began down a path very much lead by plant and spirit. Studying and pursuing passions in spirit, art, herbal medicine and all things related to the land. Including starting her own jewellery business: Earthbound Jewellery Co. making art from natural and recycled items. She has in the past offered related hands-on workshops as well as intuitively crafted many custom herbal CSA/CSH boxes for people in the community and across Canada + North America. A pig farmer since the ripe age of 7, her love of pigs was refuelled when she started raising the mangalitsa breed and served on a non-profit as a board member representative of Canada for MBOAR (Mangalitsa Breed Organization And Registry) in 2021-2023.

Aimée and Dan have a strong passion for bringing positive change to their community. They started an honour system farmstand in 2023 as a way to share in the labour of their love with local people in their community. The creation of their farmstand was initially apart of a local agri-tourism initiative called the “SEWN (Sudbuy East West Nipissing) Farmstand Tour” of which Aimée helped to create. In the same year they also created a free community seed library as a way to give back to locals as well as encourage more self-sufficiency and food security in their community of West Nipissing.

“All of our plant medicines are crafted in rhythm with the earth and moon. They are all homegrown here on our homestead in Field, ON. We take pride in our seasonal offerings and the fact that we do not source herbs elsewhere. Aside from the apothecary we also offer a variety of other services and land based workshops here in our community.”

“Services like growing produce, plants, seeds, raising meat & eggs, offering workshops to share land based skills, crafting CSA/CSH boxes.”

“We believe in sustainability, community, respect, responsibility, reciprocity and love.”
